Stardew Valley Character Creation Guide

Stardew Valley Character Creation Guide

Stardew Valley offers plenty of customizable choices for the players’ characters. The game might use pixel art, but that’s not a reason for players not to look their best. From the name to their hairstyle, to their outfit, players will be able to make their character truly unique. The very first thing players will have to do when opening a new game file will be to create their new characters as well as choose their preferences.

The Character Creator will allow players to write their name, and the name of their farm, and choose from a wide variety of clothing and hairstyles for their characters. Players will have the option of even choosing a pet. This same menu gives advanced options to make the game more entertaining for veterans. While some of these options won’t be able to be changed during the game, fear not, most of them can. Players will later be able to change their outfits and appearance, and even their name, so players shouldn’t put too much pressure on this area of the game. However, their farm and their farm layout will be permanent, so this is where players should try to get the most research. Of course, players can also always get a new game file and start all over again if they don’t fully love their choices.

Stardew Valley: Best Professions For Each Skill

Stardew Valley allows players to choose from many different professions, but which ones are the best to get the most out of the game?

When players first start a new file in Stardew Valley, they need to customize their character and farm in the Character Creator menu of the game. This menu offers a set of options, so players get to name their character and their farm as well as choose the best clothing and hairstyle. The first part is to fill in a couple of simple questions to get started.

  • Name: This is where you’re going to type the name of your character. Everyone in the game will refer to the character by this name, so think of it carefully. You can use symbols, numbers, and caps. The name cannot surpass the space where you type, so it allows around 8 to 13 characters depending on the size of the characters.
  • Farm Name: This will be the name of your farm. It won’t appear anywhere on the farm, but characters might mention this name from time to time when referring to the farm. It has the same characteristics as the Name, so players will be able to use symbols and numbers as well as letters. Think carefully about it, though, because you won’t be able to change it.
  • Favorite Thing: This would be what your Stardew Valley character is more passionate about. It can be music, food, colors, or anything that comes to mind. Just bear in mind that it will appear in two possible sentences, “It’s strange, but the taste reminds you of ‘Favorite Thing'” or “Your mind is filled with thoughts of ‘Favorite Thing’.” So, maybe it would be better to choose something that wouldn’t sound awkward. If the players fill this area with ‘ConcernedApe’ or ‘Stardew’, they can reveal a special message.
  • Animal Preference: This refers to a pet players will adopt during their first month on their farm. There are ten options, five dog breeds and five cat breeds. Simply use the arrows to select the one that you like the best. If you don’t want a pet, choose whichever, and then you can tell Marnie that you don’t wish to adopt when the moment comes.
  • Gender: You can choose your character’s gender by clicking either the yellow symbol for a girl or the green symbol for a boy under the character’s image.

What’s More Fun: Stardew Valley’s Early or Late Game?

Stardew Valley is a title that you can play endlessly for hundreds of hours, but does its early game or late game make for a better time?

The die in the top left corner lets players randomize their character’s appearance, for those who don’t want to get in the trouble of manually changing all characteristics. If you don’t like the first look, you can keep clicking the die until you find one that suits your taste. Players can see their character, and use the arrows to see it from different angles. This is very important because a shirt might look amazing on the front but not as nice from the back.

Players will have the choice to change the color of their eyes, their hair, and their pants or skirts. Each area has three color bars that players can use to customize their characters. The first bar chooses the color, that’s to say, blue, green, yellow, etc. The second bar and third bar allow players to select the tone if they want it darker or lighter. For a lighter tone, players need to move the third bar to the clearer area, and for a darker one, they will have to move the second one to the darker area. As you can see, when they move one, the other changes, so it’s about playing with these two bars to get the exact tone you want.

  • Skin: there are 24 skin tones, varying from regular ones to green, blue, and even red.
  • Hair: players can choose from 74 different hairstyles. On the right side, they can select the color by moving the bars.
  • Shirt: with more than 100 clothing items, players will definitely see one they want. They can’t change the colors of these accessories, though.
  • Pants: Players can choose between shorts, pants, a mini-skirt, or a long skirt. On the right side, they can also pick the color.
  • Eye color: players can select an almost infinite variety of colors for the player’s eyes, including some eccentric choices, like white or red.

  • Standard Farm: basic farm layout to harvest plenty of crops.
  • Riverland Farm: contains rivers.

  • Wilderness Farm: Gets monsters at night.
  • Four Corners Farm: has ponds, spawns ores, and more woods than a regular farm.
  • Beach Farm: has sand and is surrounded by the sea. Players won’t be able to use sprinkles on the sand, though.
  • Meadowlands Farm: Includes a Coop and two Chickens as well as blue grass.

Stardew Valley: Tips & Tricks to Know When Starting the Game

Stardew Valley is a popular farming simulator with a rich story and a social component. Here’s what beginners should know before they start.

Once players reach four hearts with the Wizard who lives in the Tower in Cindersap Forest, they will be able to access his hatch and use the Shrine of Illusion. For 500g, this Shrine allows players to change their hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, and accessories. Players can also change their Favorite Thing, Gender, and Name — the last of which some players use to obtain unlimited items in Stardew Valley.

Players can use the Shrine of Illusions as many times as they want, but each time they will have to pay the fee. If their relationship with the Wizard goes south, and they don’t have four hearts anymore, they will have to rebuild the relationship to be able to access the hatch again.

The 10 Best Stardew Valley Characters

Stardew Valley has the player grow crops, catch fish, and fight monsters, but the people they meet along the way are what makes it all worth it.

While the Character Creator offers plenty of options for players, they can vary their outfits in the game. There isn’t a clothing store in Stardew Valley, but players can create their own using Emily’s Sewing Machine after creating their first piece of Cloth in the Loom. Players can use cloth and other items in the game to create more than 300 hundred shirts and tops, 14 types of pants and skirts, and most of them are dyeable. You can also create hats, and change the look of your boots and shoes. Players can also buy accessories from the Mouse’s Hat Shop south of Cindersap Forest and in other stores and special events.

From time to time, players will also encounter pieces of clothing throughout their travels or their daily activities. Additionally, Mistery Boxes might contain a special outfit. Once players unlock the Bus Station, they can also get full outfits from Emily at the Desert Festival. Players will, then, be able to store all these new pieces of clothing in their Dressers, where they can easily pick up their outfits every day.
