How to Share and Download Character Creation Codes

At the start of Monster Hunter Wilds, players must create a Hunter and Palico for their journey. While it’s possible to fully customize your own Hunter and Palico straight from your own imagination, there’s also the option to use other people’s ideas through Character Creation Codes.

Additionally, you can also share your Hunter and Palico creations with other players. This is a great way to show others your creativity and allows them to play the entirety of their Monster Hunter Wilds playthrough with your hunter.

How to Download Character Creation Codes

When it comes to downloading Character Creation Codes in Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s important to note that it’s only possible at the initial character creation screen (at the start of the game) or by using a Character Edit Voucher.

It is not possible to download creation codes from the Change Appearance menu during a playthrough.

To download a Character Creation Code, navigate over to the Design tab in the Character Creation screen. Next, select Download Design and enter the code of the Hunter or Palico provided by another player to import their creation into your game. Each code is 12 characters.

How to Share Character Creation Codes

Unlike downloading codes, players can only share Character Creation Codes by obtaining a Character Edit Voucher.

PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam all sell these vouchers in a bundle of three for $6.99. However, each console’s store allows players to claim one free Character Edit Voucher.

To use the Character Edit Voucher, boot up Monster Hunter Wilds and select the option to use it from the Start Screen (before entering the game).

After using a Character or Palico Edit Voucher, follow the steps below to share a Character Creation Code.

1. Navigate to the Design tab.
2. Select Save/Load.
3. Press the Sub-menu button.
4. Select Upload Design.
5. Give the generated code to whomever you would like to use your Hunter design.

There aren’t many codes out there just yet, but more are sure to become available as players continue to jump into the game. Unfortunately, due to Capcom charging real-world money for Character and Palico Edit Vouchers, it may take a while for more codes to flood the internet.
