  • Soldier improves your Warfare and combat-related skills.
  • Adviser improves your Speech and diplomatic skills.
  • Scout improves your Stealth and thievery skills.

Question: Why Should I Trust You? Answers

When Thomas asks you why he should trust you, you’re presented with three options: Speech, Charisma, and Might. Here are the choices that will lead to success depending on which playstyle you chose:

  • Soldier: Charisma or Might
  • Adviser: Speech or Charisma
  • Scout: Charisma

Set up Camp

Captain Thomas recommends camping for the night since it doesn’t appear you’ll be making it into Trosky tonight. Hans decides that the pond is suitable, and Henry reluctantly agrees. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the camp, meet your fellow bodyguards, and familiarize yourself with the UI.

Open your inventory, and you’ll get tutorials about the screen and its many icons. It’ll be intimidating at first, but over time you’ll get accustomed to the various conditions, equipment, and icons you’ll need to learn. Realism is a major factor in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and these UI elements are how you’ll understand the various systems at play in making it work.

Optional Objective: Feed Mutt

You’ll hear Mutt before you see him, noisily barking away at the quartermaster. Head over and call to him to get his attention and he’ll start following you — obviously hoping for some scraps. If you speak to Oats, you can convince him to give you a snack for your hungry pup.

Oats only has one sausage left, and he’s saving it for the journey home. However, if you select the right option, you can convince him to part with it. Charisma or Intimidation will work no matter which playstyle you chose. Alternatively, you can ask him to trade. He lost his ring while gambling with Tankard, and if you can win it back he’ll give you the sausage he was saving.

When you have the sausage, open the chat window with Mutt and select Feed. Then, pick the Smoked Sausage from your inventory, and he’ll happily chow it down.

Optional objective: Play Dice with Tankard

To win Oats’ ring, or if you just fancy a game, you can challenge Tankard to a dice match. The stakes are low, so you may as well take the opportunity to practice this challenging little side activity that might come in handy later.

The objective of the game is to reach the target score first. To score points, you’ll roll dice, select any that score points and try again. If you ever roll a set of dice that can’t score points, you lose any points accumulated in that round and pass your turn.

Note: This isn’t Yahtzee. You don’t hold dice to accumulate a high-scoring set. Each set of dice you select is counted on its own, and every time you select a set, you reduce the pool of dice you have left to score.
