Drunk Brawler Build – Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Guide

Drunk Brawler Build – Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Guide

One thing that stands out about KCD2 is how versatile character building is. With the in-depth systems around Henry, you can make any type of character build you want, and it will generally be viable. With that in mind, we’ve created a Drunk Brawler build, which lets you make a character who loves to down a few pints and then get into fisticuffs. It’s a strong build no matter the situation, but it’s extra fun for role-playing fans. Here’s how to make a Drunk Brawler who can down foes as easily as he downs brewskis in KCD2.

Player Skills

As you level up your Drunk Brawler version of Henry, there are several important skills to pick up to make this build sing. Below, we’ll focus on those skills, but keep in mind that you’ll also earn skill points in some of the other trees by playing normally. If it’s not listed below, your skill choices don’t really matter for the build, so you’re free to pick whatever you want. With that in mind, here are the skills you’ll want to target for the Drunk Brawler build.

Main Level Skills

  • Driven by Vengeance – You aren’t going to use any weapons with this build, so you’ll want to have as many stat boosters as possible. This kill skill boosts your attack damage and stamina recovery for 30 seconds after downing a foe.
  • Burgher – Since you’ll be spending a lot of time in taverns downing alcohol, you might as well grab the ability to boost your strength, agility, and vitality in towns.
  • Nightcrawler – Use this to boost your strength, agility, and vitality at night. While it’s always five o’clock somewhere, you’ll probably do most of your damage at night if you’re using this build to roleplay.
  • Warmonger – This skill boosts strength, agility, and combat skills after finishing a fight. The effect lasts for six game hours.
  • Heroic Vigor – Gain an extra stamina point every time you level up your vitality, making it easier to stay in a fight.

Strength

  • Wrestler – As an unarmed brawler, you’ll want to win fights in the clinch, so take this important skill.

Agility

  • Nimble Stance – Since you won’t be able to use a shield, you’ll want this skill to make your dodges cost less stamina.
  • Totentanz – Similarly, this skill gives you an attack bonus after a perfect dodge.

Vitality

  • Herme’s Haste – If you do need to run from a fight, you might as well be slightly faster.
  • Marathon Runner – If you do need to run a long way from a fight, you might as well consume less stamina.
  • Red Mist – This gives you a boost to your strength and agility when your health drops below 25.
  • Revenant 1 & 2 – You’ll naturally recover a solid chunk of your health out of combat, letting you get back into a fight sooner.
  • Diehard – Hits that would usually kill you won’t, and you’ll recover 25% of your health. It’s a nice handicap for a build that doesn’t use much armor.

Speech

  • Battle Cry and Dreaded Warrior 1 & 2 – Both skills have two levels. You’ll want to eventually grab them all because you gain a skill boost, and your opponents might run away after performing a battle Cry in combat.

Drinking

  • Nightcap – This isn’t necessary, but it will save you from hangovers, which is a nice bonus.
  • Cheers! – Drinking more gives you back health and cures poison. This is a no-brainer.
  • Indomitable Drunk – You won’t feel the negative effects of drinking nearly as badly as everyone else.
  • Tavern Brawler – The must-have ability for this build. When you’re drunk, your unarmed combat skill goes up by four.
  • Enhanced Mixture – With this, every potion heals you, and the drunker you are, the more you’ll be healed.
  • Experienced Reveller – The positive effects of drinking hit you sooner, making this a clear choice.

Houndmaster

  • Lifesaver, Defender, and Sic ‘em! – You don’t have to take any Mutt skills, but if you want some help in fights, these are the ones to grab.

Combat Skills

For this build, you aren’t using any weapons. That makes things pretty easy on this front, because you’ll want pretty much every unarmed skill you can get your hands on. That said, you might want to tweak the build slightly if you plan to use armor. In our build, we’re really emphasizing the tavern brawler aspect, but that makes many of the story missions very difficult. If you need to use armor, be sure to adjust the skills below:

Warfare

  • Evade – You aren’t using a shield with this build, so you’ll want as many mobility options as possible. Evade makes it easier to dodge attacks.
  • Fient – Similarly, Feinting allows you to make an attack, throwing your enemy off-balance.
  • Against All Odds – Fighting against groups of enemies is tough in KCD2, but this makes it easier by giving you a boost to strength, agility, and warfare when going up against superior numbers.
  • Hardened Veteran – Your stamina regenerates faster, getting you back on offense more quickly.
  • River – Boosts your stats even more after a successful dodge
  • Unbreakable – This skill partners with Against All Odds to make fighting against several enemies at once easier. With Unbreakable, your stamina will recover much faster against superior numbers.
  • Masterful Feint – This makes your Feints even more impactful. An easy skill to recommend.
  • Furor Teutonicus – You will probably take damage with this build. Thankfully, this skill makes you stronger after you get hit.
  • One Man Army – This is the final skill that helps against overwhelming numbers. One Man Army gives you a 10% damage boost when fighting several foes at once.

Unarmed

  • Belligerent Brawler – After your first strike, every other strike costs less stamina, making it easier to keep the pressure up.
  • The Harder They Fall – This is key when going up against armed combatants, as your unarmed skill goes up by five against those enemies.
  • Kurzkampf 1 & 2 – You’ll deal more damage in the clinch, which we want to use to take advantage of the Wrestler skill.
  • Sting Like a Bee – After 30 seconds of unarmed fighting, you’ll get an attack and stamina boost, helping you stay alive in longer fights.
  • Bring ‘em On! – When you take down an enemy, you’ll gain a 30-second boost to your unarmed combat and stamina.
  • Battering Ram – Your opponents regain stamina more slowly after you successfully hit an unarmed combo
  • Evening the Odds – A straight 10% increase to your unarmed strikes.
  • Jawbreaker – Each subsequent unarmed attack does more damage than the last, making combos even more deadly.

Combos

While we’re talking about your weapon skills, it’s important to note that you’ll learn most sword combos from Barnaby, who you can find in Kopina after finishing the Melee at the Mill and Wine, Women, and Blood side quests. You’ll want to pay particular attention to the Elbow Uppercut and Shoulder Throw combos.

Gear

Here’s where things get interesting. If you want to really roleplay the character, we’d recommend going shirtless with grungy pants and shoes. However, that’s not conducive to most of the story missions in KCD2, so we’ll also list the medium armor we’d equip for those battles. Here’s what our Drunk Brawler is rocking in KCD2:

Tavern Armor

  • Head – None
  • Body – None
  • Arms – None
  • Legs – Padded chausses, Burgher’s shoes
  • Jewellery – Pavlena’s necklace and Solid gold ring

Story Armor

  • Head – Mail hood with a coat of arms and Bascinet with aventail
  • Body – Saxon Hauberk, Milanese cuirass, Short pourpoint, Noble’s belt, Noble’s pouch
  • Arms -Hourglass gauntlets, Silesian brigandine sleeves
  • Legs -Burgher’s shoes, Padded chausses, Saxon plate legs
  • Jewellery – Pavlena’s necklace, Solid gold ring

The first outfit sets you up to be KCD2’s version of a drunken UFC fighter. The Padded chausses give you extra defense, but this version of the build is all about testing yourself. You’ll probably die, but you’ll look good doing it.

On the other hand, the second set of gear gives you a good mix of medium armor that lets you stay mobile, while still having plenty of protection. You can pick and choose pieces you might have on hand until you get the funds needed to buy everything, but the goal here is to keep the weight down to help with dodging.

Since this is an unarmed build, you don’t need to worry about weapons, making this the end of the Drunk Brawler build for Henry in KCD2. Go find your nearest tavern and get sloppy. With this build, you can handle it.
